Virtual Okra Seed Planting Workshop with Georgia Organics

Thursday, June 24th – 3pm

Join this family-friendly event to learn the basics of planting okra and how to care for your plants. This event will also include a live okra planting from Cosmos Farm in Carrollton, GA and show how Little Ones Learning Center plants okra with their Pre-K students in Forest Park.

Strawberry Moon Farmers Jam

Thursday, June 24th – 6:30-9:30pm

Grab some friends and join Farmers Jam for an outdoor concert under the Strawberry Full Moon, complete with handcrafted cocktails and the first batch of Strawberry Lemonade Farmers Jam from 2021.

Farmers Jam’s mission is to spread joy through live music, local food and planting fruit trees. All proceeds from events and jam go toward planting fruit trees on local farms. Get your tickets here.

 

U-Pick Blueberries at King of Crops Farm

Saturday, June 26th – 8am-2pm

Take the family and head to King of Crops Farm in Winston, GA to pick your own blueberries! Explore the farm, take part in some yard games, bring a picnic, and don’t forget to enjoy a cold pop while you’re there. 

King of Crops is open multiple Saturdays, so don’t sweat if you can’t make it this weekend! Get your tickets here

 

Pick Corn with Concrete Jungle

Saturday, June 26th – 10am-1pm

Take a trip to a real, live, south Georgia corn farm to harvest 10,000+ pounds of corn to share with families in need in the area. This group will harvest from 10 am – 1 pm and then head to a nearby swimming hole and maybe even stop at a local lunch spot on the way home.

Yoga + Farm Tour + Brunch at Rowe by Rowe Organic Farm

Sunday, June 27th – 8am-1pm

Leave the city behind and enjoy a day on the farm! Start with a walk through the pastures to a secluded spot on the farm for an hour of yoga led by Emily Gibbs, KRI Certified Yoga Instructor. Yoga will be followed by a tour of the vegetable farm and brunch by Chef/Farm Kat of Ups and Downs Farm showcasing foods grown on the farm. Each attendee will also get a box of vegetables to take home!

Row by Rowe Farm is a working production farm about one hour south of Atlanta, nestled on the edges of rustic pasture and woodlands. Get your tickets here(Tickets are limited and signups close Friday 6/25 at 5pm, so if you’re interested hop on it!)

 

World Refugee Day Celebration at Refuge Coffee

Sunday, June 27th – 5-8pm

This event was postponed from last weekend due to rain, so luckily you still have time to go! 

Come on out to Clarkston to enjoy delicious food from local vendors, family-friendly activities, and delicious tea and coffee drinks from Refuge Coffee. Meet your neighbors, hear from special guest speakers, gather information at the advocacy booth, experience incredible music and dance performances by community groups, and shop locally from refugee and immigrant business owners at Refuge’s vendors market!

Refuge Coffee Co. exists to serve the global community in Clarkston through coffee-related job creation, job training, social networking, and commerce. Event info here. No tickets necessary.
