Mashed potatoes aren’t just reserved for Thanksgiving! This decadent mashed potato recipe pairs perfectly with a Great Steak 😉 and only has six simple ingredients.

Decadent Mashed Potatoes
by Ollie Honderd
Prep/active time: 1 hour
Serves: 2-4
Ingredients
- 1 lb yukon gold potatoes
- ½ cup whole milk
- 4 oz butter
- 1 clove garlic
- Salt & pepper
Preparation
- Add potatoes to a large saucepan, cover with water by 1-2 inches. Add 1 Tbsp salt.
- Set burner to medium/low. Bring potatoes up to just below a simmer. Cook until you can spear them easily with a fork, about one hour.
- Combine milk, butter and garlic in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Leave peels on and crush potatoes through a potato ricer. Alternatively, carefully peel potatoes when cool enough to handle, then mash with potato masher, sturdy whisk or fork.
- Remove garlic from the milk/butter mixture, then combine with the potatoes. Mix until creamy and smooth.
- Add salt and pepper to taste, and enjoy!
